What is Energy Storage

Energy storage refers to the process of storage energy for future use. This is achieved by converting energy from one form to another, and then stored it in a device or system until it is needed. Energy storage technology is used to balance the supply and demand of power, manage peak loads, excess energy stored during non-peak hours, and provides backup power supply during the grid interruption. There are various types of energy storage technologies, including batteries, pumping hydraulic storage, compressed air storage, flywheels, heat storage and hydrogen storage. These technologies have different applications and benefits, depending on the specific needs of the energy system.
